About

Hi, I'm Caity

I am a Human Biology student at Stanford University studying Neuroscience and Neuroengineering. I am entranced with aesthetic and design, human behavior, and the intersection of neuroscience and art. I can often be found taking walks out in nature, dabbling with paints, and maybe sipping on a delicious milk tea.
My passion lies in investigating human nature and the institutions we have formed. What controls us? Seconds before our action, it is neurotransmitters; minutes to days before it’s endocrinology; days to months before it’s neuroplasticity; and lastly, genetics and epigenetics rule and shape our preferences and tendencies throughout our life.
As the youngest person in my family by quite a few years, I have spent a majority of my life observing, watching, and analyzing the friends and family members around me— waiting around until my own “real adult life” started while also trying to get ahead in the game of understanding the patterns of human behavior and intricacies in human relationships.
Coming to the realization that, at 21, I still don’t feel like I really understand adulthood and what it is be a twenty-something year old woman in this modern time, I have decided to carve out a special place for me to share my musings about the contradictions in society, my current tastes and personal culture, as well as my exploration of rebuilding my own cornerstones of identity as I transition into a new chapter of my life.
